Tips
Send a tip
The most interesting stories in this category are not on press releases. They're in Discord servers, dev forums, leaked design docs, founder DMs, and frustrated employees. If you've got something that fits that description, the newsroom wants to hear from you.
What makes a good tip
- Specific, verifiable, timely. A dated screenshot of an internal Slack is useful. A vague rumor about a competitor is not.
- Context we couldn't find on our own. Why is this happening? What did the founder say in a private channel that contradicts their public post?
- Things that change the story. A $50M round that was actually $12M. A shipping product that's 60% vaporware. A founder leaving a company two weeks before the press tour.
How to send it
Email: tips@jyme.io. Attach screenshots, documents, or screen recordings. Tell us if you want to be on the record, on background, or completely anonymous — we default to anonymous if you don't say.
For sensitive material, use Signal: jyme-newsroom.01. We strip metadata from uploaded documents before use.
What happens after
A newsroom member reads every inbound tip. You'll hear back within 48 hours if the story is pursuable — longer if it needs more verification. Most tips don't become articles directly, but they often inform how we frame a later story.
Tipsters are never identified in a published article without explicit consent.
What not to send
- PR pitches — use the press list at advertise for those
- Product launches you want covered — same, the press list
- Proprietary source code that isn't public — we don't publish leaked code
- Personal grievances with a specific founder — we cover products and markets, not interpersonal disputes
